2011 Chinese New Year's Celebration 新春晚会

2011年的新年,第一次在国外庆祝。以前,总是认为新年没什么,就只是发闷;现在,体验了没有亲人在身旁的新年,心里顿时特别思念亲人-正所谓“每逢佳节倍思亲” - 我终于可以深深感受。 This was my first experience to celebrate Chinese New year oversea. In the past, I always thought that new year was boring. But, I have changed my mind. I missed my family and friends badly during the new year. 为了让自己的新年并不是太寂寞,便参加了Plymouth's College举办的春节晚会。这个晚会,基本是我们中国同学所承办的。一张6磅的票,包含了入场,自助餐,表演节目及吃饺子。 I joined a spring festival's party that organized by Plymouth's College. The main purpose was to reduce my loneliness. This party basically organized by a bunch of chinese students from China. The ticket cost 6 pound, including entrance fee, buffet, entertainment show, and free dumpling. 这个晚会还蛮热闹的。前排的座位多留给了VIPs.所以,要拍照很有难度,因为前面都有人会挡住你的焦点。拍了不是很多,况且我们提早离开了。上半段的表演,蛮精彩的。表演包括了舞狮,武夫表演,古筝表演,相声,独唱,大合唱等等。 I was said that the party was quite happening. Christmas's Marathon

Why did I regard it as marathon? I had attended 3 Christmas parties organized by Chinese Christian Fellowship, Plymouth. 17th Dec - Christmas Party for youth groups 19th Dec - Christmas Party for elderly in "Tian Fu Lou" 26th Dec - Christmas Party in Church It's just like a marathon, as I went through three parties within Dec for a celebration of Christmas. The feeling is just amazing because they are meaningful and exciting events. We are just like a big family, with full of fun and joy. We had delicious food, played some fun games, exchanged gifts, and singing. Different people, different country, different style of celebration and..I m appreciate these differences. 25-12-10 Christmas Feast in Karine & Harry House

I am honored to be invited to their house for a Christmas feast. My first time had a traditional Christmas feast, and also my first Christmas in UK. My heart filled up with excitement, and eager to involve in the atmosphere of this thanksgiving day. Their house was nicely decorated, with Christmas trees, gifts, banners, decoration accessories and etc. Back in time to Malaysia, I would think that Christmas decoration is worthless and splendid. Now, I has changed my mind. Christmas tree, to welcome guests Heater Christmas tree in the living room, pilled up with gifts Roast Turkey! It always associated with Christmas. Bonfire in Plymouth

Out of curiosity and attempted to have some firework shooting, I went for BONFIRE ! click on the hyperlink to find out what is bonfire. It is celebrated throughout UK, nonetheless Plymouth is not excluded. Plymouth Hoe, is one of the significant landmark of Plymouth. The place was flooded with crowd, everyone is waiting patiently for the show, Bonfire. Parents bringing their lovely kids, elderly, youngsters and etc, everyone seemed very keen on festival. I wasn't a party or festival fret, but I was tempted to witness a festival that is never happen in my home country. I imagined it supposed to be malicious, it turned out disappointment. Watching "woods" being burned, and speculating "normal and simple" firework, it doesn't excite me. However, my hands never leave my nikon's shutter button, it turned out to be a photography lesson.
