Pay it Forward

Today, here I am to share a movie which released at the year of 2000. What has made me to blog about this movie due to its altruistic concept of helping others. It won few academic award, the story mostly mingled around 3 main characters - Kevin Spacey as a social studies teacher, Helen Hunt is Trevor mum who fall in love with Kevin Spacey in the movie, and last but most important character, Haley Joel Osment acted as Trevor who ambitiously came out the concept of Pay it Forward.

Think of an idea that can change the world and put it into action - An assignment given by his social studies teacher, Mr Simone. His purpose is to generate those kids (middle sch) mind, and only want to hear "what is the world meant to them?" But, Trevor takes the words, and takes action.

Trevor comes out a concept called Pay It Forward. He has to help 3 people

Requirements:
1. The person needs help
2. The person cant help themselves
3. The person who receives help, has to help another 3 people

He got an abusive dad, and alcoholic mum. He exhibited as a strong boy, with independent thought. In fact, he needs love. He wanted to impact other people lives, because he realise how important Love is to a person.

Initially, he brought back a homeless man, Jerry home. He gave him money, and also brought him back to stay overnight. He accepted his offer, and he had to impact 3 people. He thought he failed to change him, because he wasnt able to contact him anymore. But, he was wrong.

The 2nd person was Mr Simone. Mr Simone is low self esteem, and not able to pursue his happiness due to his burned scars on his body. He bluntly made a date for him and his mum, (coz his dad went away), a lot of break up in between due to his esteem issue. But, both of them managed to be together. He was disappointed bcoz Mr Simone did not pass the concept to the other 3.

Trevor felt the world is just like a shit. He is deeply disturbed that his motion wasnt carry out successfully. He felt upset. He almost lost his hope.

Never did he know that, his concept has impacted people around the world. He got to know the good news through a journalist who received a brand new car from a stanger when his car was knocked down by other car. Surprisingly, the stranger only requested him to pay it forward, to other people. He decided to track it back who is the one come out Pay it Forward.

He is proud of himself, and he got interviewed. The day of his grand achievement, is the day of his end of life. The 3rd person that he helped is Adam, a classmate of him who always got bullied by other students. He fighted for him, but he got stabbed.

Started from this scene, I really broke down into tears. Rewind back to how much he has touched other people, just can't accept a kind hearted kid died.

Calling all angels - this song was the ending song. Lots of people lighted out a candle, with a bouquet a flower, standin in front of his house - to pay condolescence to him. Pray to him, and appreciate his good deeds.

Guys and gals, it is POSSIBLE to help other people altruisticlly. It is challenging, tough or nearly frustrated, but think of the result of helping. It is rewarding, heartwarming.

Are you decided to pay it forward? Just to think of your friends, who need emotional support, go to them and care about them. Just to think of the begger on the street, just give them some coin if you have. Just to think of needy people, be a volunteer if you can.

Be a feel person, be a sensible person - might bring you a more meaningful, colourful, impactful lives to yourself to others.

Again, i cried for the movie.

Recently learnt about emotion triangle, it said human tends to suppress core emotion, and manifested as either a defense or inhibitory emotion. The emotion that we tends to inhibit are shame, guilt ... There are fear and inferiority that governs my heart - I have to learn to address and admit my feelings better, and make a decision to communicate or set a boundary. It is hard to actually do so, and I know after I have done it - I can sense my guilt and shame. It is like a vicious cycle.  I have to make a promise to myself - be mindful, be steady and let my head clears. Don't react much...But at the same times I am glad that I did say something. I did express myself. I did feeling less intense. I treated it as a progress.  Anyway I felt sorry of the people that I hurt - when I am still a human with sin...

Full stop is not a Stop

My study has come to the full stop. After the submission of my final year project, I thought I will be delighted, yet I wasn't. I was apathetic. No more motivation to complete it, I already forgotten my achievement goals, I have given up. During the phase of life, I felt Life is just ain't about perfection. Imperfection in life is the essence of our growth. In order to grow, old proverb saying "no pain, no gain", it indeed applies to everyone of us. Being through thick and thin, sweat and tears, I started to realise that adaptation to sudden change is incredibly important. For instance, we have a goal to get a First Class Honour in our degree program, but our result speaks no to us. Is it show that we are stupid? Nope, it only tells us that it is a piece of paper which might granted us to obtain better job, yet which class you get is not the guarantee to get a better job. The end of college life, is the start of _______ life. People will fill in the blank themselves....
