What is Christmas all about?

According to http://www.everythingchristmas.com/truemeaning.html,

You’re all set for Christmas. The stockings are up, the Christmas tree is decorated, and everyone has a present under the tree. You’ve picked out Christmas candy, the ham is in the freezer, and you’re ready for the big day.

As you head up stairs to bed on Christmas Eve Mom asks you, “Did you leave the milk and cookies out for Santa?” And yes, even that’s taken care of. But are you missing something? What does Christmas really mean? Is it all about getting presents and eating candy canes and waiting up for Santa Claus?

The word “Christmas” gives us some hints about what Christmas was originally about. It started off with the birth of Jesus Christ, over two thousand years ago in the country of Israel.

Jesus’ birth is very important to Christians around the world who believe that Jesus is the Son of God. They celebrate Christmas like a big birthday party. That’s why they give gifts to each other, because Jesus was born on that day.

When I was a little girl we had a tradition in my house of making a Jesus birthday cake. My family is Christian and my mom would bake a cake and write “Happy Birthday Jesus” across it in frosting.

But families celebrate Christmas in all sorts of ways. Some families put up lots of lights all over their houses, and decorations to celebrate the holiday. Maybe your family buys you lots of presents and puts them under the Christmas tree, or maybe you go to a church service. Maybe you don’t celebrate Christmas at all.

The most important thing to remember when you’re thinking about Christmas is that it’s not just about presents or Santa Claus or singing carols. Christmas marks a very important historic event. You can read the actual Christmas story in Matthew or Luke in the Bible, and maybe this Christmas you can think about the holiday in a slightly new way.

Today, I went for a musical performance in Lutheran Church, to support my buddy, Charmaine. She was one of the dancers of this play. I was truly impressed, touched and come to realization of how the world has treated Christmas is.

- People are busy with technology, sitting in front of screen, facing facebook and etc. Preoccupied time with those, and we forgot who brings us to World.

- People are excitedly for Christmas celebration. Party, drinking, gift exchange, and etc. It is really the true meaning of Christmas?

- People are happy with the existence of Santa Clause. Santa Clause has become the main role of Christmas, but Christmas isn't about Santa.

- Christmas is about Giver, not about gifts

We indeed need to appreciate what is the meaning of Christmas, instead of bluntly celebrating it without knowing anything.

It indeed a slap for me, but I m thankful. Thus I m here to share this to everyone :)

Merry Christmas

Full stop is not a Stop

My study has come to the full stop. After the submission of my final year project, I thought I will be delighted, yet I wasn't. I was apathetic. No more motivation to complete it, I already forgotten my achievement goals, I have given up. During the phase of life, I felt Life is just ain't about perfection. Imperfection in life is the essence of our growth. In order to grow, old proverb saying "no pain, no gain", it indeed applies to everyone of us. Being through thick and thin, sweat and tears, I started to realise that adaptation to sudden change is incredibly important. For instance, we have a goal to get a First Class Honour in our degree program, but our result speaks no to us. Is it show that we are stupid? Nope, it only tells us that it is a piece of paper which might granted us to obtain better job, yet which class you get is not the guarantee to get a better job. The end of college life, is the start of _______ life. People will fill in the blank themselves....

Spell or Hallucination

If you know a person, She claimed that "the maid put the spell on my family, at night a small boy will bite my foot, when I kick him away and I heard the sound of crying. Apart from that, she is mumbling at night. My daughter started to speak rudely to me, and did not call me as mother anymore. She moved back to her own house. My husband, he started to scold me in Malay, and also instructed the maid to beat grandsons. Everyone is sided the maid" No one is believing what she said. Her children claimed that she is just hallucination. She is just thinking too much because of her experience in stroke. After she got a stroke, things started to change. Her family did not treat her well. What is your advice? Is the maid put the spell on her family? Is she just thinking too much?

How to train your dragon (Movie)

If you said it is a waste to watch animation or cartoon in cinema, I will reject your idea. Firstly, most of the animation strongly project good moral ethics or values for the reference of audiences especially children. During the childhood, children ought to differentiate the right and the wrong distinctively, neither grey area nor in between. Value always serves as a guideline for us to oblige, not a compulsory because decision is still lied in the hand of human. This movie secretly intruded my deepen heart. It talked about relationship, a bond between dragon and human. The main character, Hiccup chose to save the night fury (dragon) because he saw the fear from its eye. Even a human, we got attracted or closer with people who are similar to us because we feel we able to understand each other better compared to differences. The flow of movie discussed the process of rejection, acceptance, understand and devotion in a relationship. When we are just a stranger for each other, we are re...
